지난 1월 15일 갤러리아 슈퍼마켓 쏜힐점에서 제8회 향토기업과 함께하는 ‘사랑나누기’ 기금 전달식이
열렸다. 올해로 8년째 이어지는 ‘사랑나누기’ 운동은 갤러리아가 협력업체와 함께 노인, 장애우 및
소외된 계층을 위한 복지단체에 후원금을 모아 전달하는 행사이다. 이번 ‘사랑나누기’ 운동을 통해
모인 1만 5,700달러는 12월 한 달간의 갤러리아 슈퍼마켓 판매수익금 1%와 협력업체에서 선뜻 내놓은
기부금으로 마련되었다.
이날 기금 전달식에는 이진수 토론토한인회장, 최성학 한인여성회 부회장 등 여러 한인 인사들과 밸러리 버크
(Valarie Burke) 마캄 시의원, 그라함 베벌리(Graham ) 욕 지역 경찰서장 등의 지역 인사들이 참석하여
자리를 빛내 주었다.
올해 모인 기금은 조이모자선교회, 작은빛자선회, 한익권익신장협의회 등 한인 관련 단체와 본 지역 푸드뱅크
(Vaughan Food Bank), 쏜힐 라이온스 클럽 (Thornhill District Lions Club)등 비한인 단체 총 14곳에
전달되었습니다.
민병훈 갤러리아슈퍼마켓 대표는 “어려운 경기에도 불구하고 이웃의 소외된 계층에나눔을 실천하기 위해
협력해주시는 분들이 있어 매년 행사를 이어갈 수 있다”고 전하며 앞으로도 계속 받은 것을 사회에
환원해 나갈 뜻을 밝혔습니다.
The 8th "Share the Love" event was held by Galleria Supermarket on January 15.
The event is to help those people who are deprived and isolated so that Galleria Supermarket
and participating companies can show care forthe society.
The campaign raised $15,700 and it consists of 1% of participating companies' sales
from December 2014.
Many community leaders including Jin Soo Lee, the president of KCCA, Valarie Burke, Markham City
Councillor and Graham Beverly, York Region Police Chief attended the ceremony to cheer such an
initiative. The donation was distributed to 14 different organizations including Joy Women &
Chhildren's Mission Society of Canada, Vaughan Food Bank,
Thornhill District Lions Club and so on.
Jeffrey Min, the president of Galleria Supermarket, said "Thanks to participating companies and
partners who are willing to help people in need, we can continue this great initiative. We will
continue to donate profits to the society."
