토론토 스마트폰 영화제는 지난 2012년 "아리랑 코리아 스마트폰 영화제"로 출범한 이래 제 3회를 기점으로 한인들 뿐만 아니라 국내외의 다양한 인종의 참가자들과 관객들을 유치하기 위해 "토론토 스마트폰 영화제"로 새로운 브랜딩을 거쳤으며, 현재 토론토의 대표 영화제로 거듭나고 있습니다.
토론토에서 가장 빠르게 성장하고 있는 독립영화제 중 하나인 토론토 스마트폰 영화제는, 스마트폰 및 태블릿을 이용한 새로운 영화제작 방식을 선보이는 데 주력하고 있습니다.
부상으로는 삼성캐나다에서 후원하는 태블릿과 스마트폰 외에 관객투표상 $500등이 있으며 작년 행사부터 해외출품작 수상자에게 $1,000의 상금을 지원하면서 해외인재들의 등용문이 되고 있습니다.
영화제작에 관심이 있는 사람이라면 누구나 출품이 가능한 이번 스마트폰 영화제에는 코미디, 호러, 다큐멘터리, 뮤직비디오, 애니메이션 등 장르의 제한은 없으며, 스마트폰과 태블릿 PC 만을 사용하여 찍은 10분 미만의 영화여야만 합니다.

The call for submission of the 4th Toronto Smartphone Film Festival is now open.
The film festival was founded in 2012 with an original name, Arirang Korea Smartphone Film Festival. The film festival evolved to Toronto Smartphone Film Festival last year, and allows anyone from any cultural backgrounds to participate in the festival as long as they can create films using smartphones.
As one of the fastest growing film festivals in Toronto, Toronto Smartphone Film Festival was created with the goal to encourage aspiring filmmakers to produce films using smartphones and tablets.
The prizes include a Galaxy tablet and a Galaxy phone along with $500 for the audience choice award. The festival also awarded a winner of the international category with $1,000 to provide an international platform to showcase their work and talent.
The submission is open to any genre of choice including but not limited to comedy, horror, documentary, music video, animation and so on.
The length of the video must be 10 minutes or under. Video must be shot on smartphone devices and/or tablets of any brand.
