쿠라카케 컴퍼니가 주최하는 제 2회 마츠리 행사가 지난 7월 27일 영 앤 던다스 광장에서 열렸습니다.
마츠리는 토론토의 대표적인 일본 여름 축제로 일본 문화를 체험할 수 있는 기회를 제공했는데요,
특히 올해 행사는 남녀노소를 불문하고 많은 방문객들이 화려한 색상과 무늬가 어우러진 다양한
일본 전통의상을 입고 참여해 행사를 더욱 빛냈습니다.
행사에는 다채로운 공연을 비롯해 일본제품과 그 밖에 여러 서비스를 통해 일본의 문화, 예술, 음식,
그리고 라이프 스타일을 선보였습니다.
한편 광장무대에서는 일본 민요와 무용, 일본 전통 타악기 연주, J-pop 등 다양한 공연들이 펼쳐졌는데요,
방문객들은 그 중에서도 패션쇼를 행사의 가장 하이라이트로 꼽았습니다.
행사의 또 다른 묘미, 바로 음식입니다. 이날 다양한 음식과 스낵, 디저트를 포함한 토론토 최고의
일본 음식들이 대중들의 입맛을 사로잡았습니다.
오전 10시부터 오후 9시까지 토론토 다운타운에서 무료행사로 진행된 마츠리는 일본을 소개하는
대표적인 행사로 자리매김 하였습니다.
On July 27th, MATSURI returned to Toronto’s Yonge-Dundas Square, for a second year. Hosted by the Kurakake Company, the Toronto Japanese summer festival provided guests and visitors with the opportunity to explore the Japanese and Japanese-Canadian community.
The festival celebrated Japan’s culture, art, cuisine and quality of life through various performances, products and services.
MATSURI was especially colourful this year, with many men, women and children wearing variations of the traditional kimono in beautiful colours and printed patterns.
The stage programme showcased a diverse range of performances including Modernized Japanese Folk, Traditional Japanese Drummers, J-Pop and dance.
According to various guests and visitors, the fashion show was a definite highlight of the event.
Another highlight throughout the day was, of course, the food. The festival featured the best of Toronto Japanese food, including a variety of delicious dishes, snacks, and desserts.
The free event was open to the public, and ran from 10am to 9pm. MATSURI definitely brought out the Japanese spirit in the heart of downtown Toronto.
