제 69주년 광복절 기념식이 지난 8월 15일 저녁 6시 30분에
토론토 한인회관 대강당에서 열렸습니다.
먼저 1부 기념식은 국민의례에 이어 정광균 토론토총영사 대독으로
순국선열과 애국지사들에 대한 감사와 경의를 표함과 동시에
대한민국의 역사, 미래의 포부에 대한 대통령 경축사가 전해졌습니다.
이후 이진수 한인회장 기념사와 만세삼창, 광복절 노래 제창이 이어졌고
애국지사인 손병희선생, 이청천 장군, 강우규 의사에 대한
초상화 헌정식이 거행됐습니다.
이밖에 2부에서는 각종 광복절 기념공연과 함께 광복절의 의미를
되새기는 시간을 가졌습니다.
The 69th Independence Day of Korea commemoration was held
on August 15th at 6:30pm at the Korean Canadian Cultural Association in Toronto.
The first part of the ceremony began with a pledge of allegiance to Korea,
followed by a speech from South Korean Consul-General Kwang-Kyun Chung,
who expressed words of gratitude and respect through a tribute to the patriots
who sacrificed their lives for the country. He spoke about Korea’s history and
future aspirations, and delivered the South Korean President’s speech marking
the 69th Independence Day of Korea.
KCCA President Jin-Soo Lee also gave a speech which was followed by three cheers
and the Independence Day of Korea Song was sung in unison.
A portrait dedication was held for three Korean Patriots including
Teacher Sohn Byeong-Hui, General Yi Cheong-Cheon and Doctor Kang Woo-Gyu.
The second part of the ceremony consisted of various performances
that allowed attendees to reflect on the true meaning of the Independence Day of Korea.
