Cedar Ridge Cultural Hotspot Artist in Residence Jihee Min concludes her summer residency with her solo art exhibit, Aligning Memories.The exhibit takes place from September 6-25 at the Cedar Ridge Creative Centre Gallery.
The theme of the exhibit focuses on the complex relationship between time, memory, culture and place. Portrayed in Min's work is her persuit to communicated with the historic Cedar Ridge. The exhibit includes photographs of historical objects found on laction, and paintings on multiple popsicle sticks that visually aligns and brings together, a once fragmented past.
Born in Korea and raised in Montreal, Min has a MFA in Studio Arts at Concordia University and a BFA with Honours in Sculpture and Installation at OCAD. Min uses art to explore issues of displaced culture and multiculturalism.
The September hours at the Cedar Ridge Creative Centre Gallery are 10am-4pm daily.
