지난 11월 27일 토론토 대학 멍크스쿨에서는 (Munk School - Campbell Conference Facility) 토론토 대학 한인학생회 주최로 토론토 로컬 뉴스채널 CP24의 호스트 및 앵커 이지연 씨를 초청하여 강연회를 가졌습니다.
이날 이지연 앵커는 "한인사회에 미디어가 끼치는 영향" 이라는 주제로 고등학교 졸업 후 18년 동안 방송분야에서 일하며 CP24 앵커가 되기까지의 여정을 소개하였습니다 .
토론토 대학교에서 역사와 정치학을 공부한 이지연 씨는 CTV에서 인턴 활동을 하면서 자신의 미래에 한걸음 다가섰습니다. 졸업 후 CTV 사스케츄완에서 첫 직장을 얻은 후 기사작성, 촬영, 편집, 영상보도 등 다양한 방면에서 일하면서 수많은 경험을 쌓았습니다. 그 후 CHCH 해밀턴, City TV 토론토, CP24에서 앵커로 활동하며 방손언론계에 진정으로 자리잡았습니다.

해년마다 토론토 대학에서 개최되는 게스트 스피커 시리즈는 그 동안 이영현 회장, 가수 김장훈, 김연아 상원의원을 초청하여 학생들과 글로벌 리더들과의 만남을 주선했습니다.
University of Toronto Korean Students' Association hosted the guest speaker series with a remote host/anchor, Jee Yun Lee, on November 27 at Munk School.
Jee Yun Lee spoke about 'Impact of the media in the Korean Canadian community' and her journey to become an anchor at CP24.
Ms. Lee studied history and politics at University of Toronto while she was an intern at CTV.
Her first job after graduation was with CTV Saskatchewan. Wearing several hats she was a writer, videographer, editor, anchor and reporter. Soon after, Jee returned to central Canada working for CHCH-TV in Hamilton and City-TV, subsequently with CP24.

Guest Speaker Series is an annual event hosted by University of Toronto Korean Students' Association. Previously, the organizers hosted the events with well established global leaders such as President Lee Younghyun, Singer Kim Janghoon, and Senator Yonah Martin.
