2014 나눔의 한마당이 지난 12월 6일 토요일, 토론토 한인회관에서 개최됐습니다.
캐나다 효 문화재단 주최로 열린 이번 행사는 영위원 및 봉사자들을 포함해 약 350여명이 참석했으며 다양한 프로그램들과 선물, 음식 등이 마련되었습니다.
김미영 무용단의 오관무로 화려한 막을 올린 1부 행사에서 김정희 이사장은 모든 참가자들과 봉사자들에게 감사를 표하고 효 문화 교육과 사회 봉사 활동으로 건강한 사회와 가족 간의 사랑을 형성시켜 효 문화 운동이 사회 봉사 활동으로 캐나다 한인 동포 사회에 널리 확대 해 나가겠다고 전했습니다.
이사장 환영사에 이어 이진수 토론토 한인회장과 데이비드 지머 (David Zimmer) 주의원, 그리고 조성준 시의원도 행사에 참석하여 축사를 전했습니다.
개회사가 끝난 후 본격적인 무대행사로 이어진 1부 공연에는 조상두 지휘자의 색소폰 연주, 김미영 무용단의 부채춤, 멕시코 무용단의 민속발레춤, 그리고 슬로바키아 무용단의 전통 무용이 준비되어 관객들에게 동서양을 아우르는 다양한 장르의 음악과 무용을 선보였습니다.
식사가 끝난 후 진행된 2부 행사에서는 유투브 스타로 유명한 교민 드러머 권순근씨가 공연을 선보여 관객들의 흥을 돋우었고 이어 줌바댄스강사 베키 (Becky)씨의 열정적인 무대로 관객들과 즐거운 율동을 함께 배우는 시간을 가졌습니다.
이 밖에 토론토 교민가수 홍이와 1960년대 한국 걸그룹의 원조인 정시스터즈 출신의 정희정씨, 그리고 유양일씨의 축하공연이 있었으며 마지막 순서로 참가자 노래경연이 펼쳐져 참가자들은 평소 갈고 닦은 실력을 선보이기도 했습니다.
한편 이날 2부 순서에는 캐나다 효 문화재단이 지난 9월부터 각 노인 단체와 노인 아파트를 순회 방문하면서 무료로 촬영한
장수사진을 나눠주는 증정석이 진행되어 따뜻한 나눔을 선보이기도 했습니다.
캐나다 효 문화재단은 효 사상의 전승과 행복한 캐나다 동포사회를 만들기 위하여 지난 1997년에 설립되었습니다.
재단은 한국의 자랑스러운 문화유신인 경로효친을 기반으로 해년 마다 ‘나눔의 한마당’ 행사를 통해 65세 이상의 어르신들 및
불우이웃, 탈북난민들을 대접하는 아름다운 선행을 펼쳐오고 있습니다.
The 2014 Celebration of Sharing Project was held on Saturday, December 6 at the Korean Canadian
Cultural Association in Toronto.
The event was hosted by the HYO Filial Care Society of Canada. About 350 volunteers and
steering committee members were in attendance and a variety of programs, gifts and food were also prepared.
Part one of the event opened with traditional drumming by Mi Young Kim. Chairman Esther Pierce presented a welcome message thanking the attendees and volunteers. She also stated that the
Hyo Filial Care Society of Canada will expand its volunteer initiatives throughout the Korean-Canadian community.
Her message was followed by greeting messages from KCCA President, Jin Soo Lee, Honourable
David Zimmer, MPP and Toronto City Councillor, Raymond Cho.
The stage performances began directly after the opening address. The performances in part one included a Saxophone performance by Sang Doo Jo, a Fan Dance by the Mi Young Kim dance
group, a performance by The Mexicans Folk Ballet, and a performance by Vychodna Slovak. The
audience was able to experience and enjoy the diversity of the music and performances.
After dinner, the event continued with part two which opened with an exciting performance by
famous YouTube star and drummer, Soon Keun Kwon. His performance was followed by Zumba
dance instructor, Becky Park's performance that had audience members follow along and learn a
few steps of their own.
There were also performances by Hong-ee, a Korean-Canadian singer in Toronto and members
from the girl group, Jung Sisters. Yang Il Yoo also gave a performance.
Lastly, there was a singing contest where attendees were able to show off their great singing skills.
Also, HYO Filial Care Society of Canada showed respect to elders during the photo presentation
ceremony. The foundation took photos for free while visiting various seniors association in the GTA.
The HYO Filial Care Society of Canada was founded in 1997 with the goal to develop a more
successful and happy Korean-Canadian community.
The foundation hosts annual 'Celebration of Sharing Projects' to serve seniors, the less fortunate,and the North Korean refugees.
