지난 12월 6일 토론토 경찰대학에서 아시아계 여성 취업정보 세미나가 열렸습니다.
오전 10시부터 진행된 이날 세미나에서 참가자들은 토론토 경찰이 되기 위한 기본적인 자격요건, 인터뷰 및 시험에 대한 정보를 얻고 혈압측정과 체력검사를 위한 준비훈련을 하였습니다.
토론토 경찰은 12학년 과정을 이수한 만 18세 이상의 영주권자나 시민권 자이면 누구나 지원할 수 있으나 전과기록이 없어야 하고 G 클래스 운전면허를 소지했어도 벌점이 6점 이상이면 지원이 불가능 합니다.
지원 방법은 온라인을 통해 접수한 후 세미나에 참석하여 기본적인 지식을 습득하고 체력검사 준비훈련을 받습니다. 그 후 필기시험, 체력검사, 청각 및 시력 검사 등을 통과해야 인터뷰 기회가 주어집니다. 인터뷰를 통과한 지원자들은 신원조회와 정신감정을 포함한 건강검진을 받게 되고 이 모든 과정을 이수한 지원자들에게는 경찰로 일 할 수 있는 자격이 주어집니다.
이날 참가자들은 여러 테스트를 통해 경찰이 되기 위해 기본적으로 갖추어야 할 체력 조건을 스스로 점검하는 시간을 가졌습니다.

토론토 경찰서비스는 매달 2번씩 정기적으로 취업정보 세미나를 제공하며 이 중 아시아계, 동남아시아계, 동성연애자, 원주민 여성 등 특정 인종에 대한 세미나는 1년에 한 번 개최하고 있습니다.

An employment information seminar for Asian women was held at the Toronto Police College on December 6.
The seminar began at 10:00 AM, and participants received information on basic job requirements, the interview process and test details. They also received blood pressure checks and training in preparation for the fitness test.
Anyone who is over 18 years old, has a minimum grade 12 education and is a Canadian citizen or permanent resident can apply to join the Toronto Police. However, you cannot have a criminal record and even if you are a fully licensed G class driver, you must have accumulated no more than 6 demerit points.
The application process involves signing up online and participating in the seminar to acquire basic knowledge and prepare for the fitness test through training. After that, applicants must pass the written test, fitness test, hearing test and vision test to move on to the interview. Applicants who pass the interview, go through a background check and health examination that also Includes a psychiatric test. Applicants who successfully pass all levels of the application process become qualified to work as police officers.
On this day, participants used the time to do a self-check and prepare for the basic requirements through various tests.

The employment information seminars are held twice a month by the Toronto Police Service. Seminars that are geared towards visible minority groups/ specific groups such as Asians, Southeast Asians, the LGBTQ community, Aboriginals and women, are held once each year.
